Vehicle Air Filtration System

Just like you, your engine wants to breathe fresh air. The air filtration system in your vehicle filters out the particles and contaminants in the air that is drawn into the engine as part of the combustion process. When the filter becomes dirty, it can clog up and result in decreased engine performance, premature wear on engine components, and even engine failure over time. In addition, your car's air cabin filtration system keeps the air that enters the cabin fresh and clean and free of the dust, dirt and pollution that can also keep AC and heat from flowing through your vents at maximum capacity. At Horsman’s, our ASE certified technicians will inspect your air filtration system as part of the routine courtesy inspection we provide every time you bring your vehicle into one of our state-of-the-art service centers.

How Often Do I Need To Change My Air Filter And Service The Air Filtration System?

Your owner's manual will provide information about the recommended air filter change and air filtration system maintenance intervals for your make and model of vehicle. In general, most car care experts recommend changing your engine air filter every 12,000 miles or every other oil change depending on driving behavior and road conditions in order to keep your vehicle running at peak performance. How often you have to replace your cabin air filter will depend on how often you drive and how much you use your air conditioner and/or heater. You should also consult your owner's manual for the recommended service intervals for your make and model of vehicle.
